Research

I am interested in computational geometry and graphics hardware. I am advised by Prof. Tan Tiow Seng.

My pastimes include photography, books, movies and travel.

Projects

Automatic PSF Estimation for Coded Exposure
A technique for automatic estimation of the Point Spread Function (PSF) using a coded exposure camera. The camera was simulated in Matlab. The project presentation is here [PDF].
Modeling the GPU
A simple analytical model of the GPU. The model is shown to approximmate well to both the pipeline and unified architectures. The model is validated and its predictions are tested. The report is here [PDF].
Alpha Shapes on Graphics Hardware
Implementation of Alpha Shapes on GPU. Implemented in Cg and Visual C++ on Windows. The jump flooding algorithm was used with a modified distance function to generate the Alpha Shapes.
Rigid Body and Fluid Interplay Solver
A solver that can simulate the interaction between an enclosed fluid and rigid bodies introduced inside it. The solver was implemented in Cg utilizing the parallel processing capabilities of the GPU. The presentation is here [PDF].
Karya
A stack based CPU emulator that accepts postfix expressions. The expressions converted into tagged instruction bundles using a hardware tagging unit. The bundles are scheduled for execution using a scoreboard of registers and execution units. The project was implemented as part of the CS5222 course.
